A friend sent me a link to mountainproject that has a post on Fred Beckey climbing in Joshua Tree 10 days before his 90th Birthday.
Think you are too old to climb/run/backpack? Now, while I (somewhat) jokingly consider myself a Geezer, someone like Fred has set a new bar for how far you can go and for how long.
Don’t know Fred Beckey? If you climb at all, look him up. He has a ton of first ascents – more first ascents than most people have climbed routes. He is an author, dirtbag climber and even has a mountain named after him in the Alaska range.
So go read his books, look up his life and get inspired to do more with yours.
I am now inspired to put up posts on other inspirational climbers, runners, skiers and athletes who have set the bar high.
